Richard is a skilled trial and appellate attorney. He began his legal career with clerkships with the Hon. Meir Shamgar, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel, and the Hon. Dom J. Rizzi, Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court. Richard focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and civil and criminal appeals. He has presented and argued cases before the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and other state appellate and supreme courts throughout the country.
Richard has run 17 marathons, including the Boston Marathon, the New York City Marathon, the Tucson Marathon, and the Chicago Marathon.

Richard is a skilled trial and appellate attorney. He began his legal career with clerkships with the Hon. Meir Shamgar, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel, and the Hon. Dom J. Rizzi, Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court. Richard focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and civil and criminal appeals. He has presented and argued cases before the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and other state appellate and supreme courts throughout the country.
Richard has obtained reversals of criminal convictions based on deprivations of Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights, including two murder conviction reversals in the Illinois Appellate Court and a murder conviction reversal in the Mississippi Supreme Court.
Area of Legal Concentration
Richard represents clients in federal and state trial courts, and before administrative agencies and arbitration tribunals. Representative cases include class action lawsuits, shareholder and member derivative suits, real estate and construction litigation, commission claims on behalf of sales representatives, and cases involving injunctive and equitable relief. Richard also prosecutes and defends claims on behalf of clients for personal injuries and legal malpractice and represents clients both in civil and criminal matters in appellate and supreme courts throughout the United States.
